“Can a group of corporate leaders work together to make a gourmet meal and survive?”
That’s what Inside Business asked in an article published this week. The answer? A resounding yes! And Waypoint Seafood & Grill helped show them how.
On March 10, 25 department directors from Newport News Shipbuilding came to Waypoint as part of a leadership program designed by the Center for Corporate Education at the Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary.
“Dubbed the Cooking Challenge, the large group was divided into four teams to cook together, compete and pick up some cooking tips from an experienced chef who also served as their coach,” Inside Business wrote. “In different sections of (Waypoint), four temporary kitchens were set up complete with gas burners and other equipment.”
Much like some of the popular cooking shows on TV, the teams were given instructions, guidelines, basic ingredients and surprise items Chef Hans said needed to be added to the dish.
They had to work together to layer flavors and create the best plate.
It was definitely exciting watching them compete and have fun with food!
